In the spring of 1994, Dennis Ortiz and Júnior Kelly Marchena were talking about the idea of forming a singing group that would combine different styles of music to gain the acceptance of all audiences. After having previous conversations regarding a shared passion for singing, Dennis got in touch with some friends in Dade and Broward Counties, and in January 7, 1995 this Ministry was born. The group spent the next couple of years committed to learning, writing, performing, and solidifying the new sound. After independently raising funds, Divine Mission entered the Acappella Company Studio and recorded a demo with two songs. Released immediately, the response to the songs led to an overwhelming amount of Ministry opportunities for the group. Highlights of those performances include an appearance at the Do Something Youth Congress, Youth Leader’s retreat at Camp Kulaqua, ACAFEST ’99 in Paris Tennessee, and an evangelistic campaign held in the Dominican Republic in front of an audience of more than 17,000. Divine Mission also held fundraising and benefit concerts in North Carolina, Texas, and Florida to help with church construction, education, and special Missions. Divine Mission performs for many churches in the U.S.With the Mission to serve God and the church, share the gospel with unbelievers, and to encourage existing believers through their music, the group is consistently drawing in listeners of all ages. Their sound is described as fresh and spiritual, as they have developed their own captivating style; which includes singing in three different languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Their music brings listeners into a worshipful arena. Influences include The Heralds, Acappella, Gold City, Arautos Do Rei, Now or Never, and others. In the year 2005 they recorded their first album “Lléname De Ti”. In addition, in 2008 their second album “Real” was released. With these three recordings, Divine Mission is looking to expand its horizons and continue touring the world.
