The Upstart Sound originally began in 2004 as a side project conceived by Mike Pascua (vocals), Jesse Knepper (guitar), and Bob Lee (drums). The band would soon be rounded out by Vinnie Augustine Chinsen (bass) and Anthony Daniell (guitar). Gerry Martinez (guitar) later joined the band to replace Anthony Daniell. The Upstart Sound immediately began writing songs and performing in and around the Los Angeles area. Over the course of their time together, the rock and roll outfit managed to record the songs that they had written, many of which were tracked live in studio in one or two takes. This album represents a compilation of these songs and a document of the good times and rock and roll that they made together. Fans of alternative and classic rock will find those influences evident in the songwriting and sound. If you like good rock music, you should give this album a listen.
