Sean Hill presents his self-produced debut solo album Waking Dawn 11.1.11. In May 2011, Sean felt compelled to begin selecting and re-writing songs from the library of compositions from years of being a hobbyist songwriter. Shortly after selecting and revising the material to comprise the album, Sean, being a drummer himself, carefully began hand-picking the band to bring out the sound scape of this album. The quartet band, including Sean Hill on drums, Robby Lattimore on bass, Max Mitchell on rhythm guitars and keys, and Allen Mitchum on lead guitar, created the musical foundation of the record. The band began tracking the music for the album, and Sean began"hearing" other voices, other than his own, singing several particular tracks on the album. Perplexed by his own ear, Sean began to select singers he had come to know through his career as a musician that could bring each song to its maximum potential with their unique vocal skills and tonal qualities. In total, Sean brought in seven guest singers plus himself to complete the vocals on the album. The differing vocals create a unique vibe on every track, an approach that is unseen in the Alternative Christian Rock & Worship genre where the"front man" persona is so prevalent. Waking Dawn is empowering, inspiring, creative, melodic, rocking, and worshipful all in one album.
