Short Fictions' album Light Ascending Out of Gloom: A Collection of Short Fictions and Poetry is the band's debut album. It combines elements of Midwest style emo, with indie pop, and fringes gently on skramz. The album also incorporates original poetry by Pittsburgh poet Stephen Lin.
