I am a musician some of the time, and most of the other time I do math. I am drawn towards multistable dynamics: in other words, when a train jumps from one track to another. Sometimes when the train jumps the track, it runs amok. It could be said that I was born to study this, and also that I am dying to study this. I am one of the lucky (?) few that gets to study the theory behind their own body's idiosyncrasies. For me, it's my heart that has the tendency to jump the track. Statistics say it's fixed now thanks to a procedure last New Year's Eve, but I am still afraid, because determinism means I could be scheduled to drop dead forty seven weeks from now. Or I might never be afflicted again, and I would have wasted so many heartbeats in needless anxiety. After New Year's Eve I became terrified of my body. So I wrote this album to acknowledge all of it, all the stories that had stuck to me of starvation and denial and decay and gambling for a future with 2.5 children. I wrote about Vietnam and Ukraine. I wrote about the time I tried to sneak out of a guy's house through the dog door. So here it is,"Every Single One".
