"Marianne Flemming now makes Vancouver, Washinton home but the singer/songwriter's travels around the world, from the Caribbean to Europe to South America have lent her folk-blues a singular style ungoverned by race or region".Born and raised in South Florida, Marianne first got the music bug from her father, a crooner from the big band era. She developed a love for the eccentric and emotional aspects of song from listening to Jane Siberry, Anita O'Day, Frank Zappa, Howlin Wolf, and many others. Her music has been called both sensual and sweet, endearingly funny, and soulfully insightful. With the addition of a family, Marianne has settled down in Southwest, Washington but she still tours Florida, the Mid West, and the East Coast."A seasoned performer who knows how to sing, swing, rock and groove.""Seekers of pleasant surprises would do well to examine Venetian Dream. From Cafe Jazz poised and precise, to a brilliant mixture of ska, pop, and country blues. Mapped out scats and playful torch singing produce swinging ballads, quiet anthems, and tumbling post-bop jigs. Marianne has melted years of experiance into a tidy package of pithy memories....songs that are breezy and full of thought"MaximumInk
