New Renaissance Pop - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hip Hop band with a backyard wrestling Cirque Du Soleil show. Like a sober Amy Winehouse with Flaming Lips do-it-yourself-manship. I mean how many bands have a member that paints live on stage? On designing the album cover Jay says, “The Rubik’s Cube and it’s mismatched colors came to represent the diversity of sound and ideas we have. Life is a puzzle. Sometimes it seems impossible to solve, like you just can’t get the pieces together. It’s like that with the Energy Commission, a challenge to solve what we are, so the solution is to leave those inconsistencies as they naturally occur. We symbolize that misfit courage that takes matters into your own hands. Paint it pink. Play by your own rules!”Unconventionally tangible in a digital world is the 4GB USB drive the band is releasing it’s special edition of the album on. Shaped like a Rubik’s Cube, the USB protrudes as the pink sides align. “It’s Jay’s genius.” Danielle says “Complete strangers eyes light up with imagination when you show them. Get the album onto your computer, and you can still use the drive. It’s a symbol of renewal.”“We write what we know and songwriting is where I’ve spent my 10,000 Hours. I take pride in my lyrics and trust my instincts without hesitation.” Weinberg says. “Though the songs on the album may be “inconsistent” in genre, they are “consistent” in honesty.” For a band that prides itself on character, “Consistently Inconsistent” oozes it in abundance.
