Was that you Jim? 2.Your SongElton John and Bernie TaupinIt’s true. I lost some sleep over this one. I mean, Elton John and Bernie Taupin. That line at the end of the “Your Song”chorus “how wonderful life is when you’re in the world”...the lyric, the music, the orchestration… unbelievably masterful and satisfying romantic stuff. It seemed possibly a really bad idea to try to come up with something that would be artful and romantic enough to actually honor, and not insult, the original…but…We hope you’ll agree that the Karma in the studio that week shared among Krystal, Yours truly, and let’s not forget guitar man Jeff, will lead to lots of eager downloads. And we’re pretty sure that Elton and Bernie would at least consider sitting near us at an evening music function. 3.In Love With You ForeverKenny AdamsonThis is a big-time wedding song…Oh yes…We would advise caution when listening to this one. The first few times you listen to it may cause a dramatically increased, and perhaps, ill-advised closeness to occur between you and anyone you’re dating at the time. It’s that dead-on wedding-ish. Singer Michael Smith is about as close to a reincarnation of “Luther”, the King of soul ballads, as a brother can get. Concetta sings “Look at my Wings…I’m flying” and you say “Oh Lord…I’m marryin' Concetta or somebody – now!... Concetta’s married…but…just be careful. 4.I Need Your LoveKenny AdamsonOK so “Once upon a time” is a corny way to begin a song. But ya gotta love “I Need Your Love”. It’s Soul, it’s Pop…We give you a happy, make that silly, bouncy- happy, but cool enough groove to counteract any brief appearance of corniness. Our Lady Krystal sings it so nice and pretty she’ll be the first one to make you sure that only love matters in life…even if your perfect someone is a few roses short of a dozen. 5.Keystrings KickKenny AdamsonPeople, I’m sure you all remember that the piano is a string instrument. That helps explain why I have always had a love affair with piano and violins. We got some piano and violins kickin’ something slick…something funky…something definitely jazzy and audaciously original. If you want to hear what piano and violins are really supposed to be doin’ in a big music hall when people gather ‘round, “Keystrings Kick” shows you…It will challenge your mind and your speakers…turn it up!6.FunkalatKenny AdamsonWhat happens when “Funk” gets together with a sassy Latin “Bosa Nova?” You get a song you gotta like a lot called “Funkalat”. Amigos check it out. We’ve got funk, for you “Boomers”. We’ve got some Herb Alpert/Tijuana Brass horn goin on (thanks Evan, nice blowin’), and some cheerful whimsical piano from a hard workin’ - hard playin’ brother (KA). Give us some love people and we’ll give ya more back!plus…Best Keylicious Piano StoryGuong DongKenny AdamsonSo, here I am playing the piano at a wedding reception for lots of real nice Chinese folks.It was between songs and I’m messing around – improvising this classical nocturne that I hadn’t felt the inspiration to finish…but it had some soft, swirling, breezy phrases... I felt some eyes… Then, I looked up, and 10 to 15 elegant Chinese elders were gathered around the piano just quietly, peacefully watching…watching my fingers…watching me…Life…and music were never more mysterious and beautiful than at that moment. I finished Guong Dong the next morning. Thank you my Chinese friends.
