Singer-songwriter Christopher Rudd has brought in a very talented collection of San Francisco Bay Area artists to bring his music to life. The album is full of sound effects and feels like a soundtrack.. There is a central theme of childhood and youth that runs throughout the album. The songs are beautiful, melodic and melancholy. The arrangements are unusual with the use of string bass, piano, organ and acoustic guitar along with more conventional rock instrumentation like drums and electric guitars. The musicianship is outstanding including: Jeremy Steinkoler on drums, Becky Gambatese and Christopher Rudd on vocals, Andy McCorkle on string bass, Richard Cohen on piano, and Christopher Rudd on guitar, bass and keyboards. Flower is a melodic album and shows a great deal of diversity in Christopher Rudd's songwriting.
