The songwriting is usually started on guitar. Often it´s based on a singular idea that is the core of the song, the “soul”, if you want. It can be a tiny detail or melodic figure, sometimes not more than a rythm or a sequence of tones. In more extreme cases just the sound of a schorching, dirty steel string. The goal is to keep and make a package of that small idea, that original feeling of simplicity and clarity - whatever it originates from - as it would have, in spite of its banality, the answer to some big and incomprehensible mystery
