When Paul McCartney created his first solo album (with the cherries on the cover) he retreated to his home studio after playing for years with a group. He performed most of the parts and recorded the project himself. The result was an intimate and creative project reflecting his unique vision instead of the cumulative work of a committee. I purchased the album when it came out, listened to it, and thought to myself,"Someday I am going to make an album like that!" Now, with the making of Raspberry Ants, I have had the space and time to do just that. Except for the drums on Medley: Lights Of Paradise/Dehra Dun and some overdubs by Don Reed (dobro/mandolin) on Livin' Life So Dangerously and Broke On Saturday Blues, I performed all the parts---drums, bass, guitars, mandolin, banjo, tamboura, percussion, vocals, and more. I also recorded and produced the tracks...a challenging job requiring me to change hats often.I had fun creating Raspberry Ants and I hope you enjoy the results!-Joey Latimer, Idyllwild March 2015
