I've been writing music since I was thirteen ( and oh lordy, that was a long time ago now! ). I struggled with sharing it for quite some time though, as I slowly worked through my gender dysphoria to come into my own as a transgendered man. On the way, I've done a lot of interesting things. I've lived in Maryland, Texas, and now California. I've been part of a punk rock poetry street music culture, I've gone to graduate school for Music Composition at Mills College. I've traveled to Thailand, Europe, and Latin America. I've even explored about every permutation of sex and gender identity ( straight girl in high school, queer girl in college, straight man for a few years after grad school, and happily settled as a queer man today ).So . . . yes, I'm one hell of an interesting guy :)I've always been fascinated with myths, science-fiction, and psychology. The first books I loved were Ender's Game and The Tripod's Trilogy and my first real musical love was The Cure. I love the edge between darkness and light and the edge between real and imagined worlds. This album is a selection of songs that I've invented and reinvented over the years. On this album, you'll hear 9 violins on Jovian, a chorus of voices on Relativity, upwards of 6 guitars on many tracks, and the talent of a wonderful band, all of whom have brilliant solo careers as well.I hope that you enjoy the album as much as we all did making it and that you'll share it with friends and loved ones.
