After several CD's with ensembles I went back to recording 'Sitar Glitch's by myself. It enables me to just go with what I feel at the moment and listen to it later. Some tracks were put down with Santhanam Gopala on tabla and percussion. Other instruments and effects were added later. This process took a few months since I wanted each individual track to emerge by itself and not being affected by what ideas I had for others, if that makes sense. Sometimes when you look for something without trying too hard, it'll come to you. So I feel that whatever track I had in my mind over a week or so, attracted ideas which I then applied. It might have been a glimpse of a tune I picked up in passing or a few words I overheard in a cafe'. In that way this CD is again a bit like entries into a diary. When I listen to music I recorded in the past I can remember all the people and events that shaped that time. So this one is my year of 2015. Make this music yours in your time. Cheers!
