Bulla first came to Hawai`i's attention when he won the Kindy Sproat Falsetto Singing Contest in 1999. Since then, he has honed his musical and vocal talents and won fans throughout Hawai`i, on the mainland, and in Japan. On this album, his distinctive falsetto and rich baritone voices are applied to a variety of traditional and original songs selected to honor his grandparents (who include slack-key master Raymond Kane). Late kumu hula JayJay Akiona and friends Cody Pueo Pata and Kaiolohia Funes Smith add"icing" to the musical cake.
