"INTO LIGHT" is a praise & worship/contemporary christian CD from Aussie singer-songwriter Hugh Wilson.A collection of songs recorded over 5 years, the album therefore has certain stylistic variety, with each of the ten songs possessing somewhat differentiated identities; from the Beatlesque"I will walk with you", to the country influence of"All I live for" to the electronica of"Problem Solver" or the pop/rock of"Started Something".A conjoining thread however, is Hugh's consistently high quality vocals and of course the subject matter: songs sung to his creator and messiah.Some of the songs have been used for collective praise & worship in christian churches, while others seemingly exist for more personal reflection, meditation and prayer.On the whole, it seems we get a fair insight into aspects of Hugh's relationship with his God through these, at times, highly personal songs; but the songs are also able to be used by the listener to assist their own communication with God:"Water to my soul", My King and My saviour" and the title track"Into Light" being cases in point.
