Sun, the first full-length Cat Power record since 2008's Jukebox, and the first album of original material since 2006's The Greatest, will be out September 4 through Matador. Check out the album's first single,"Ruin".Chan Marshall performed and produced the album herself in various locations, including a studio she built in Malibu. She told UK outlet The Stool Pigeon that the record's completion coincided with a split with her long-time boyfriend, actor Giovanni Ribisi."I cut my hair off three days [after the break-up], got on a plane to France, and finished the shit," she said."It's all good, you know. I love the person very much. I actually love this record very much, too. I'm very proud of it."
