'Legacy' has been a long time in the making; two years, to be precise. it was a case of finding time between other commitments to chase a dream. My recording career began almost forty years ago and i have commited hundreds of songs to vinyl, tape, CD and now digital format. Some were extremly successful, whilst others reflectd my love for old-time country music and were never intended to be commercial. They were if anything, an attempt to preserve a number of quaint old ballads before they were lost forever. I was fortunate to have band members, amoung them Tony Renney, Adrian Legg, Rodney Harrison, Gareth Fletcher, Dave Plane and Don Coging, who shared my enthusiasm for heritage music and traditional instruments. This new album is my first solo effort since 1978, even though my voice has appeared on countless other collections over the years. In 2004 i was privileged to 'share' an album, 'JImmy Driftwood's Great American Songs' with America's Dan merry III and it kicked off my ambition to 'go it alone' again; alone as a vocalist, that is, but accompanied by some fine musicians who captured the very essence of what i wanted to achieve in terms of an old-time country music sound.
