KAB Country was started by three members of The Society for the Preservation of Early Country and Western Music when they went on a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. Ken, Al , and Bob all traveled together in an RV and they decided to write a song. It became the Just Ask Me song. Ken (a retired generator technician) had never written anything before that trip but had so much fun doing it he decided to write more songs. Al is a retired helicopter pilot from Texas and has been involved in music, both performing and writing most of his life. He was influenced by a co-worker, Kris Kristofferson. Bob is a retired computer technician and has been writing songs for many years. Together they wrote 12 original songs and KAB Country was born. Ken , Al, and Bob have a lot of fun performing together and you never know what’s going to happen when musicians are cooped up in a motor home. To help produce the CD, “Just Ask Me”, they relied on a good friend Rex Rains to man the steel guitar. Rex plays with several different bands professionally. The last song, I wanna be a Dog is an absolutely not serious song that scratched our funny bone, so we had to add it.
